Welcome to our Cub Pack

'There's a Mowgli in all of us'

Cub Scouts are the younger members of the Group and meet as a Pack. The Cub Pack caters for youngsters from 8 to 10½ years of age. The Group currently runs two Cub Packs refered to as the Otter Pack and Badger Pack. Both Packs meet at the Scout Headquarters and have on average 36 members each. The Packs accepts both male and female members.

Wilton, North Taunton, Trinity, Staplegrove, Wiveliscombe, Henlade, West Hatch and West Monkton Cubs join Wellington for this year's District Cub Camp.

Cubs provides an opportunity for youngsters to try lots of different activities, visit places and go camping. It acts as an excellant introduction to the more challenging activities to be experienced in the Scout section.

The Cub Scout Uniform is a green long-sleeved sweatshirt worn with the Group knecker. Progressive Training Awards and Proficiency Badges are worn on the uniform.

When a boy or girl joins the Pack, they are introduced to Cub Scouting and to the Cub Scout Progressive Training Programme which has been designed to meet the varying needs of youngsters today. The program can be adapted to suit the individual and their environment. They will have the opportunity to gain Awards and badges which are given in recognition of the effort made by each youngster at their own level of development and understanding.
