Huish Woods Campsite

One of the traditional aspects of Scouting is the ability to spend time outdoors, camping and appreciating the environment.

1st Wellington Scout Group is lucky to have a dedicate camping ground at the local District Campsite at Huish Wood just a short distance from Wellington.

Members will soon get to know it quite well! It is a great venue that we use both for doing outdoor activities on our weeknights, as well as being a popular venue for local camps.

The site is set in 40 Acres of mixed woodland on an eastern spur of the Blackdown Hills, near Taunton. Camping and indoor accommodation is available all year.

In addition to the camping grounds the site offers a range of adventurous activities ranging from high level wire course, zip wires, orrienteering, biking, shooting, archery, woodland crafts, and other traditional scout activities.
