Cub Scouts
Cub Scouts are boys and girls between 8 and 10½ years of age. They meet together once a week in a Cub Scout Pack consisting of up to 36 other youngsters.
1st Wellington currently has two Packs which meet on different nights of the week, and there is usually flexibility on which Pack new members can join allowing parents to fit their youngsters meeting night around other commitments.
There are loads of fun things that you can do as a Cub Scout. You will get a chance to try lots of different activities like swimming, music, exploring, computing and collecting. If you do them properly you will get a badge which you can wear on your uniform.
Cubs follow a Balanced Programme, which gives them a chance to try new things, work with other people, explore the world around them and develop personal skills. Cubs also get the change to go on all sorts of outings including day trips and longer trips such as summer camps.
The core age range of the Cub Scout Section is from 8 to 10½ years, although young people may remain in the Pack until their 11th birthday before moving on to Scouts.
